Type of Treatment

I primarily use elements from evidence-based Cognitive-Behavioral (CBT) Therapies like Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Inferential-Based Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (I-CBT) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP).  The aim is to teach you strategies to handle painful and distressful thoughts and feelings, so that they have less impact and influence over your actions.

ASSESSMENT AND SESSIONS

All clients must have an initial assessment either in my office or via teletherapy. This is a 50–60-minute appointment during which I will talk with you about your reasons for seeking help, your current symptoms, your biological, family, and social history, and your expectations for treatment. If it is indicated that ongoing therapy will be helpful, we will agree on a course of treatment using therapeutic strategies that I recommend will bring you the most benefit.

Individual sessions are offered in my office or over teletherapy and are typically 50-60 minutes long. The frequency of our meetings will be determined by your goals.

Payment

The cost for a 50–60-minute session is $130. Full payment is due at time of service. I accept cash, check, Venmo, FSA or HSA cards, and most major credit cards. I participate United Health Care and Aetna insurance plans. If you do not have one of these plans, at the end of the month I will provide you with a “superbill” that you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.
